+ Di Maria had a job and a contract to honour, it was widely known that if PSG hadn't had FFP holding them back he would've joined em last season but we got him cause no one else could afford him. Now they can he's off. He used us as the stepping stone to get to his easy league destination.

He's got the mentality of a 14 year old. I'm certain many players wouldn't play under LVG, and they're the same players that wouldn't want to play under Fergie. Fergie had a massive ego, as does LVG, and no one is bigger than the manager. Many players feel they are now, even English players (Sterling, Di Maria etc) and they try and bully their clubs. Fergie, like LVG is doing, is having none of it and letting him leave.

Ah well.

Pedro is a very good player, however I do rate Rodriguez more but he's not far off.

The problem with that theory is that if Di Maria had been playing well, Man United wouldn't be selling him just now. They wouldn't need too. Therefore Di Maria would stay at United. Man United obviously want to sell him, as well as him wanting to leave. If Man United wanted to keep Di Maria they would but they don't want a 50m+ player sitting on the bench so they're cashing in on him.

The difference between LVG and Fergie is ( minus the last few years when Fergie didn't rebuild the squad ) that Fergie done best for the team, imo LVG doesn't.

LVG dropped balon d'or winner at the time Rivaldo because he wanted to play in a new position, after that Barca went trophyless for years, he then released Rivaldo, after Brazil had won the WC, following season Barca were in the relegation zone in the middle of the season and LVG was sacked. That would never have happened to Fergie. LVG has too many bust ups with players, a lot more than Fergie had.

Id agree , I like a manager who if you act up , Your out of the squad or sold depending on how bad it was , And someone who can critisize a player publicly as well BUT it has to be strategic.

Mourinho is a master of it IMO , Hazard turned up late to training , He was out of the squad and when he wasent performing he was criticized by mourinho publicity and he has been much better since.

It seems like LVG is doing way too much of this right now , And IMO you have to be trusted if you do it , With jose and hazard they have a trust now , Jose has come in and won the leauge and done everything here you can put trust in him , But LVG hasent done anything in england yet , He needs to shut up a bit IMO untill he wins something,

He's been here one season lmao, he benched Rivaldo cause Rivaldo wanted to dictate where he played. A manager doesn't give in to the demands of players.

Players don't like Van Gaal cause he breaks ego's. Fergie was the same. Beckham would've gladly stayed at United all his career but he wanted to dictate terms, off he went.

Van Nistelrooy started demanding higher wages and wanting a bigger role, off he went to Madrid.

No one is bigger than the manager at any club, it's so simple.

But theres a clear difference beetween what Mourinho does and what LVG is doing.
As arsenal supporter (Coquilin?) said its about finding a balance , LVG doesent have that.

He has critizited Bastian after one game , Blasted Valdes for not playing for the youth , When he has played for the U21S last season etc.

Then with all the "We nearly won the leauge"

"We had more shots and possession than chelsea"

etc etc

Hes making himself sound like a muppet tbh , He honestly needs to shup up , Get his head down , Win something and then he can talk all the shit he wants.

He got blind drunk and chatted some shit and you use it as the be all and end all haha, he was having fun!

And if a player doesn't perform, you don't praise em. Valdes played 3 of all the u21 games we had, and thats it. He was meant to play many more due to needing match fitness.

VG is on the right path, second best manager in the PL.

Thats not hard though is it?

Wengers just been at Arsenal forever and is honestly only there because of "Loyality" on both sides , Not because of his performances.

Pelligrini is a idiot.

Bastian and LVG are very close friends and Bastian has been under LVG before intact he pretty much made him. He knows what he wants out of Schweinsteiger as he knows how he's supposed to play.

If Robin Van Persie can play for the U21s then Victor Valdes should have no arguments.

LvG will win the league with us and possibly more. Has always won the league with every team he manages, even on strict budget teams lol.

Can't wait for him to win it and then give Giggsy the Managerial status, only for Pep to get the job instead

He was voted the best player in the world at the time, LVG made the wrong decision and what happened after just proves it. He was wrong.

Lionel Messi isn't bigger than Barcelona, yet Barcelona let him do what he likes and they've been reaping the rewards.

If you've got a player with immense talent, you play to their strengths. LVG would be the kind of guy that would drop Messi if Messi wanted a free role like he has.

So what does LVG have to do , To earn another year in charge?

Cause he wont win the leauge. And CL is unrealistic to expect.

is a carling cup or fa cup good enough for him to stay?

He said 3 years and he'll win the league, United will give him that. I think either PL/FA cup this season and if we're very lucky both, CL not a chance. Not bothered about the other one we have, carling or whatever it is. if we win that, bonus.

That being said, don't think anyone thought our '99 team would win the treble.
