Glad to see RLC playing.

Also first start for Falcao and some minutes for Traore.

Hopefully we look better today. Never really got going at Arsenal and need to get match-ready quick!

Hope Falcao bags.

Anyway, the commentator for the Milan v Spurs game has just come out and said that Kane has been the subject of a big money bid from United, apparently in the region of 40m.

If we sign Kane, hopefully it's gonna pay off like our risk signing Rooney.

You could easy have a 4-4-2 with that.

De Gea
Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
Pedro Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger Memphis
Rooney Kane

Our bench would have quality like Herrera, Mata, Januzaj, Wilson, Valencia, Fellaini and Romero.

Jeepers.

Hopefully we stick to a lone striker, though.

Id give Kane another season. 40 Mil is too much imo and he could be a one season wonder.

Rooneys first proper season, we payed 28m for him, and that turned out fantastic value for money. Harry Kane could be his successor, leading our frontline for the next 8 years.

I hope we do get him, and I want Stones as well. Quality CB.

Real Madrid have won only 1 champions league in 12 years and 1 La Liga title in 7 years, having spent over 1 billion pounds.

This just shows spending money on players is pointless if you don't have a good manager for your team. That 1 La Liga won by Mourinho, the UCL by Ancelotti, both very good mangers.

Also reinforces my opinion that no team "buys" the title, you can spend as much as you want and buy however many players but if you don't have a good manager to get the players playing his way then it isn't going to work.

Obviously Real Madrid have to rival Barcelona who have obviously been very dominant with Guardiola, tiki-take and of course Messi but Mourinho dealt with that hurdle unlike others.

Be a nice lineup, Blind actually performed really well in the CB role. He suits it in the way Bobby Moore did. Not a speedy player but reads the game very very well.

My dad's a City fan and would love Blind at City haha.

Having a cb with a lack of pace is bad if you don't have suitable protection in front of them, which would be bastian I take it? What happens when gets injured, I don't see Herrera as the most suitable defensive midfielder to protect the back 4

Schneiderlin is a CDM, Herrera would move further forward with the attack in a 4231/4141 hybrid, how we played the end of last season (when we beat city spurs liverpool etc).

Completely forgot about Schneiderlin I guess that solves that then.

Mata shouldn't be bench, such a fantastic player he deserves to start but only if he plays in that CAM role

Schneiderlin is the second best DM in the league, behind Matic. Plus, he's 25, can still progress.

Love our team at the moment, if we sign Pedro and Kane, and a top CB, we'll be terrible to play against.

I guess it wouldn't be Chelsea without a poor pre-season

Happy with Aina and content with RLC and Traore so far.

Mikel behind the pace as always

Sure it's a makeshift back four and we're playing a Fiorentina side that's pretty decent but Mourinho will be rightly unhappy.
