*Just to be clear this is the Titanfall 2 BETA review*

Info
Title: Titanfall 2 Multiplayer Tech Test (Beta)
Developer: Respawn Entertainment
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Release Date: October 28, 2016
Genre: First-person shooter
Mode: Multiplayer

Synopsis

Titanfall 2 is an upcoming first-person shooter video game, the sequel to Titanfall. It is being developed by Respawn Entertainment and will be published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows and Xbox One. The game is scheduled to be released on October 28, 2016.

Gameplay

As a massive First-person shooter fan I loved the original Titanfall because it added so many new and innovative features into the FPS genre we could never before imagine. At the time the gameplay of Titanfall didn't come close to any game until companies started to decide to copy some of the features, for example the Call Of Duty franchise especially went in with copying unique features with games such as Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3. Now it's common to have games released that have close similarities to the original Titanfall and so because of this the original game soon lost it's uniqueness.
I think many people, especially me, had high hopes for the release of Titanfall 2 and from the beta gameplay I can say I'm neither pleased or disappointed of the game so far. When first playing the beta I got a nostalgic feeling and excitement in my belly, the gameplay offers everything the original Titanfall has with a few added features and of course map changes. After a little while of playing it was clear the game didn't feel new but instead just a refreshed version of the first game so in some ways it did come as a disappointment to somebody like me who had high hopes. The gameplay just feels too repetitive when playing online matches and therefore boring. Despite all that is previously said though there are still aspects of the game which are fun and some even new, the titan battles you get into are as good as ever with added features to the titans such as the ability to deploy trip wires. Playing as a pilot you can still wall run and make yourself up to the highest buildings or more easily use the new grapple ability that helps you travel around the map even more easily but I also feel like it can be overpowered when battling titans as you can easily grapple and latch onto them and then destroy them.
Overall, unlike the original Titanfall I highly doubt this game has the ability to outdo the latest Call Of Duty but I'll guess we'll see when both games are fully released.

Graphics

The graphics have massively improved from the last game but that was expected as the last game was released in 2014, comparing with other games today the graphics are similar to those of new Call Of Duty's such as Black Ops 3. One thing I do also have to add is that on some maps the level of detail on buildings was very good and unique but again it doesn't mean it's given the upperhand of let's say Black Ops 3. I don't feel there's much I can really elaborate on in this section.

Controls

The controls in my opinion were hard to get used to, not in the aspect of movement and shooting but in the aspect of when you're in a titan the multiple abilities you are given is overwhelming. As a newcomer to Titanfall I would highly recommend playing the first game and getting used to those controls before playing the beta or purchasing the full game as it would be very hard to learn.

Ratings

Gameplay: 5/10
Graphics: 8/10
Controls: 5/10
Overall: 6/10

Good review, however when explaining the graphics you left quite a bit of a gap since you say the graphics are similar to COD and Battlefield but COD has some basic graphics while battlefield is never ceases to amaze with the superb graphics.

Thanks for the feedback, I have tried to elaborate on some areas, especially the graphics section.

Good job on the review. I really enjoyed the game modes they had on the beta when I played it, I haven't and wouldn't pay full price for the actual game though.

I enjoyed reading your review, and I'm debating on getting it or not.
