So, I was just browsing through some of the news and I stumbled across this little article.

"More than a quarter of young adults in the UK do not drink alcohol"

Now, being someone from the UK who spent pretty much every weekend from the ages of 18-21 out drinking with friends, I find this quite hard to believe.

Yes, I understand it's not everyone's idea of fun to go out and get sh*tfaced every weekend, but if you're a young adult from the UK, you'll probably vouch for that for most people it is.

Anyway, I was more curious to hear your guys opinions on this. Does this surprise you, or do you think that the younger generation is becoming less interested in drinking alcohol?

Yeah exactly. Not sure where they did their surveying, but it wasn't in my city...

I feel that it seems that almost anywhere you go most young adult enjoy drinking. So I am shocked by this. This could have also been that the young people may have lied when asked

I don't really see a problem with young adults going out, getting drunk and having a good time.

I think if your an alcoholic, you're going to be an alcoholic. A lot of the time it's in your genes from how your parents are, or if you just have a very addictive personality. So, I don't believe that young adults having a good time is increasing alcoholism.

I am a weed man myself, I've drank a few times but me and a lot of people I know would just rather smoke than drink. I'm from America and not sure of UK standpoints on things but that number could be altered a little if you were to add in different "drugs" to the mix

Not a fan of cannabis myself, but I'm also not against it. A lot of people I know smoke it so it's something I've been around for a while. It's just had it's first medical use over here in the UK so we're edging towards legalisation of some sort I should think.
