Hey guys, so I heard about this story online, and wanted to bring in onto the forums and hear your guys opinions. I don't remember the exact information on the story so I'm just going to use different context.

We're just going to use the names John and Jane in this. So John and Jane are both college students and living with their parents. They dated for 2 years and got engaged about 4 months ago. Shortly after they got engaged, John and his father decided to invite Jane and her mother over for dinner to celebrate. John and Jane's parents are both single, and the 2 family's seemed to hit it off at dinner and started inviting each other over more often. As time went by, the parents of the 2 also seemed to start a relationship. As more time went by, the parents actually started going on dates by themselves and hooking up. About 3 months go by, and about a month before John and Jane's wedding, the 2 parents announce to John and Jane that they want to move in together.

There's more to the story but I think you guys get the point from there. So John and Jane plan on getting married in a month but now their parents are looking at having a relationship together which could lead to them also getting married in the future. Meaning John and Jane would be step siblings. What would you guys do in this situation if you were John or Jane??

Say they can get married and you're walking the incest line to a lot of people.

Say they can't get married and you're accepting that society's stupid rules should matter more than love between two people.

But there is a reason why this kind of marriage isn't illegal. It isn't incest.
It's just legally weird and sounds weird when described.

This only correlates as such if they are close relatives; say siblings, children, or parents. This wouldn't classify itself as such since they were not born from the same mother or part of the immediate family/blood.

Sounds fine to me. The younger couple was together first anyway. It's not weird because they're not related in any way.

I guess it is kinda weird hearing about it but if both couples love each other and their not related it's all good to me.

Love conquers all. But seriously without the weird quote, in all honesty I don't see it as an massive issue. For all you know they could end the relationship in the future before you become step siblings.

PS "Step Siblings Caught" lel

I don't comform to social norms and as long as their not blood related then I don't care. I will preface that by saying no, I don't have some hot step sister I'm trying to get with lol.

Short term it would be awkward as it's not particularly normal, but long term it would be great. Family gatherings will be more easily agreed upon, you can ask your dad to ask his girlfriend why her daughter is mad and be a step ahead of the game that way, it really could work out to be a good thing.

EDIT:
And you can make it as weird or as normal as you want. You can joke about it and say that your dating your step moms hot daughter or just don't say anything about it as generally it's not questioned. I work with my dad but on the job I call him by his name and we don't let people know we're related because no one really cares. Once they do figure it out though then I'm the guy that got my job because of my dad and blah blah blah. Same thing with the marrage, if you don't tell everyone "hey my dad married my wifes mom" or "I married my step moms daughter" then it's just two marriages.
