So, I built my PC almost 2 years ago, never changed a single part in it.

Specs-
CPU - i3 6100
GPU - 1050Ti 4X MSI
HDD- WD 1TB
RAM - 8GB DDR4 hyperx fury
PSU - XFX 430w bronze

Honestly, the parts I want to upgrade are my CPU, motherboard, RAM (add more), case.
I will also need a CPU cooler as I have been using the stock cooler since I built it.

I play csgo, gta, arma and other games which do not require a lot of power. The games run mostly fine right now but I do get some fps drops and I know the problem is the CPU. Also, I do quite a bit of multitasking on google and my PC is slow as **** when it comes to that.

I don't really mind if the case is windowed or not. Also, feel free to suggest other parts to upgrade, just try and make it within the budget.

Also, I cannot remember my exact mb model. (However, i can find out IF needed)

Maximum £400

Thanks amigos

Your PC wont be the fastest without an SSD which I assume you don't have. Personally I would be adding one of those first before anything.

Stock cooler will always be fine. Nothing wrong with them otherwise they wouldn't ship with the CPU.

Do you know what case you have? Upgrading won't be that necessary but is important to know for form factor?

Option 1

Option 2

Ok, so with limited details, I was able to stretch your budget this far. I'll explain why I've chosen a Ryzen based system.

So you could jump on Ebay and pick up a 2nd hand 6600/[K] or 6700/[K] but really, for the price, I can't see a point. So, with that 1600x being so damn cheap, it's a no brainer in my eyes.

With that, I got you a decent motherboard, CPU cooler and the RAM that you asked for. Note on the RAM, you'll have to get the exact same RAM even down to the timings in order for it to work nicely. I've had RAM where I've got the same make, model and speed and it hasn't played nice with the rest of the system because of the timings.

So the difference between option 1 and 2 is that option 2 comes with an SSD but sacrifices the case slightly whereas option 1 comes with a nice case but no SSD. You could toy around with the build to get it to fit it all in if you wish.
