Hello. My fianc and I are long distance. I live in the states and she lives in Canada. She comes to visit me twice a year for long periods of time. 2-3 months per visit. We've been told different answers revolving how long she is allowed to stay during a year period. One border agent has told us she technically can go home for one day and her time allowed resets and another told us she only is allowed 6 months out of the year. If anyone of you might have any useful information of us it would be greatly appreciated!

I'll ask my cousin in the morning (he's a border patrol agent at the Canadian border), but I work for a company who works nationally and we have a couple Canadians work for us. It seems to me that they only get to work here for 6 months in a calendar year as sometimes they aren't able to come to the company party.

I do know that you can file for extensions so that she can extend the amount of time she is allowed to stay in the US, I'm not sure how one goes about that though.

Stelter would be the guy to ask!! PM him and see if he knows.

He is from Germany and ended up marrying ShooterxChick in the USA. She might also know too.

They aren't as active anymore but I just saw Stelter a few days ago.

My cousin said that Canadians get 120 days in the US, it doesn't matter if it's 1 120 day trip or if it's 120 1 day trips. If they max that out for 3 years they can file a close connection exemption where they have to detail out who they are seeing and why they are staying for so long. If accepted then they can stay for 6 months. He said that you should also look into getting an I 94 (I think?) card to make it easier to prove how long you've been visiting and to make it easier to get in and out of the US.
