Really all depends on your situation bub, I didn't like living with my father and he swore he would never let me move in with my mother, so I eventually started living at my best friends house at the age of 15 then 17 I got my own place with my girlfriend.
If you don't mind living with your parents and they aren't that bad to ya save up for a couple years just so you have a bit of money to sit on/save |

Personally I think that you should save up money then move out, 17 is really a young age. Unless it's hard to stay where your at then consider it. |

Well, let me explain it to you like this because this one is pretty cool as you get to see both ends of the spectrum.
My brother and I work the exact same job at the exact same pay (union job) so we gross about the same amount. He is 21 and moved out of the house, I am 20 and still live with my parents. The difference between us? Well he lives paycheck to paycheck and has a decent car in not so good of condition. I on the other hand have $30k saved up for a house, and just spend $23k on a truck in cash. No I'm not trying to brag or flex on anyone here, that is just the circumstances. It goes hand in hand though, financially it's best to stay at your parents house where your bills are dirt cheap. The trouble with that is I at 20 years old am having a hard time finding a girlfriend as usually they don't like the guy who lives with his parents lol. Not to mention if she lives with her parents then there's no real alone time. Everyone is different, my brother and I both wish we had aspects of each others lives but we chose our own routes. I wish I could have his love life and he wishes he could have my financial life. His opinion is there's no price on love and my opinion is I'm only going to get this chance once so I'd rather bank up the cash and buy my own house as opposed to rent. The sooner you buy and pay off your house the more money you'll have in retirement to do what ever you want. Oh, and he's renting so in 6 months when he either has to resign his contract or find a new place, he has nothing to show for all that money he spent. Personally I'd love to move out now but it's hard for me. Why spend $1500/mo when I don't have to? Not only that but I'm a gun loving American and I travel for work which leaves my belongings vulnerable so at the bare minimum my stuff is secure if I live at my parents house. |

If you stay at home, and keep saving up money, when you do move out you will be in a much more comfortable position. |

Is there things you're trying to do that your parents don't allow? or you just want to move out because your almost an adult?
I'm 21 at the moment and i'm just saving up my cash, plus i need to keep a eye on my mother, she can't go up and down the stairs in our apartment too much so i try to help around. No one will judge you if you live with your parents. hell half of my friends are living on campus with crazy prices for parking and at military bases. Not my type of thing tbh. |
