Depending on what home PC you have. You could probably salvage some parts but it's always best to start from scratch I suppose.
List your specs of your PC or make & model of it with your budget that you have in mind too. |

If you want to re-use parts, download Speccy and post a screenshot. You'll also want to tell us the make and model of your PSU, and case- Speccy won't show this. There should be a sticker on the PSU with the make and model, case might be a little tougher but if it's an OEM PC, search the manufacturer and model name and you should find an image of your case somewhere. We'll also need to know your budget and currency to recommend parts, as well as what exactly you'll be using the system for. |

If that's your home pc I took a look at it and I think you would be better off building one from scratch although i'm not too sure about salvaging parts as i've never done it. |

Yeah, there's not really much you could re-use there tbh. CPU is going to be useless for games and you can't really upgrade to anything reasonable with that motherboard unfortunately. PSU isn't going to work with any discrete GPU. The only thing worth re-using really is the HDD.
$300 is just not quite enough for a reasonable system if you're looking to buy new parts IMO. If you want to make $300 work for some decent parts, you might want to consider looking at used stuff. You should be able to find a used Ryzen 3 CPU, B350/X370 mobo and 8GB DDR4 for ~$140ish these days. You could buy a new SSD and PSU if you want since you can get these for $55; Storage: Crucial - BX500 120 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($22.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: EVGA - BT 450 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($31.99 @ Monoprice) Total: $54.98 Nothing extraordinary, but you get an SSD for your OS and a PSU that will work, at least. Not sure I'd bother with a used SSD at all tbh, people seem to ask new prices for their used SSD's, unless you find a great deal. I've seen some really good quality PSUs go really cheap though, so might be worth keeping an eye on local stuff/eBay in case you see a really good deal on a PSU. If not, the new one for $32 would do the job. For case, I'd just look at what you can see locally to pick up maybe. When people get rid of their old cases, a lot of the time they just want the space so they'll pretty much give away their old case to whoever wants to come pick it up lol. Could find something pretty nice for $20-30 this way. Otherwise, I'd just grab whatever $20-30 case you can get your hands on, you can find new cases in that price range pretty easily- they'll be pretty awful quality but they'll still do the job. This should leave you with around $80 for a GPU. That would be more than enough to get a used GTX 770/GTX 960, either of which is a reasonable GPU and about on par with a GTX 1050Ti. However, I've seen a lot of RX 470's and RX 570's going for ridiculously good prices on the used market, so I'd definitely keep an eye open for one of those. I saw someone sell a 4GB RX 570 for £65 the other day, whereas people were happily paying £100-110 for the same card just 4 weeks ago. |

Yeah, here this might be a little easier;
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 1200 3.1 GHz Quad-Core Processor ($50.00) Motherboard: MSI - B350M PRO-VDH Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($40.00) Memory: G.Skill - Aegis 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-2666 Memory ($40.00) Storage: Crucial - BX500 120 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($22.99 @ Adorama) Case: Rosewill - SCM-01 MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($22.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: EVGA - BT 450 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($31.99 @ Monoprice) Total: $207.97 Should easily be able to find a decent B350 mobo for around $40. Any used Ryzen 3 you can find, see 1200 and 1300x's going for $50 and less all the time. You can get 8GB DDR4 new for like $50 now so you might be able to get some used DDR4 cheaper than $40. Again, maybe look at used deals for case and PSU as well if you want. GPU is where you'll have to do some deal hunting. Might not be too hard, lots of people selling off old cards cheap after Christmas upgrades so like I said, keep an eye open for an RX 470/570. If you can't find any, your next best option is a GTX 770/GTX 960 which can be easily found under $70. reddit.com/r/hardwareswap could be a good place to keep an eye on for deals. Craiglist and eBay too of course. |
