Hey guys , I love this community especially when it comes down to getting advice about a certain situation . So I have been unemployed for about 6 1/2 months now & I feel stuck because I never been without work before & I been thinking that I'm a bum & I just feel depressed sometimes and it's like what am I suppose to be doing right now?! Does god have something planned for me ..... I'm 24 by the way & I feel like I'm old and I just been thinking and thinking on what's to come . Am I wrong for thinking like this?

You're thinking about your future, there's nothing wrong about that at all.
You have a negative look on it because things aren't going your way right now, but just because things are bad right now doesn't mean they will be forever. 24 years and you've had a rough 6 months, I don't know your life story but that seems pretty blessed to me. If you really feel bad and have the desire to get yourself out of it, I think you gotta start working. What is preventing you? If you have a car, do doordash or uber for the time being. Make some money while doing something productive with your time. Apply to jobs, any job you can. Look on Craigslist and all those job hunting sites. Please don't let what you're going through ruin who you are. You got this man, life is rough, it really is. But I know you can work hard and get through this bad spot you're in. Once you're working, and even right now, try to focus on what makes you happy as well. Follow your heart and do what makes you happy and proud of yourself. Best of luck man. We're always here for you when you need it. |

Yeah bro I agree, if you want to work, just put in a s*** ton of applications, your bound to get something boss. Just a numbers game when it comes to jobs, also on your resume if your applying online you can copy the job description to the very bottom of your resume and it may help you out bc the keywords they search for. Heard that was a little trick somewhere. |

VMP wrote I was unemployed for around 4 months and it was honestly depressing but luckily I have a job that I absolutely love. I know many a people who would rather sit in the house and claim benefits than get a job, but its good that you have drive and are thinking about where you want to go in life. Like some people have stated, if you're not too fussed about what you want to do for work, just put a shit load of applications in. Its never to late to start a different career in life. My Mother is 45 and she just completed a degree in nursing and is now a full time nurse and my Father just started his degree in Performance and Entertainment and he is 47! Being 24 makes no difference. But I wish you the best of luck. |
