Well now that it is officially 2019 I thought hey why not make a post about some shows everyone enjoyed that was released in 2018 now as for me I'll be honest there really only is a few that really stood out to me

the first show is gotta be Darling in the FranXX this anime definitely hit all marks for me with romance and fighting and with a story that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time the last few episodes I did not see coming I really thought they could have ended it way better but hey it is what it is. anyway if you have not seen this show it is definitely one I wouldn't miss out on.

next show is Angels of Death another great show this year that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire way through. It kind of reminded me of Corpse Party but anyway I loved the way they told the backstory of zack and I feel like they just pulled off the show extremely well but that being said I did start to feel a little bored of watching it that could just be me but I still really enjoyed this show.

now the last show I want to talk about is Zombie Land Saga oh man now I have not finished it completely yet (will be done today tho) but man oh man I kept putting off watching this show ever since it aired and wow I wish I didn't but hey I got to binge it all so i guess that's ok. Right off the bat in the first few minutes, I was laughing so hard and as the show goes on it just got better from there every performance the girls did i found just great (I don't know if it's me but the animation for the performances kinda reminded me of Vocaloid live performance still thought it was all well put together) the improv rapping I thought was really well done I really think that was my favorite performance they did. Anyway, I don't want to spoil to much if you have not seen it i definitely recommend it.

now i would put Tokyo Ghoul:re season 2 on this list but I really just think they could have done a way better job tbh I feel like it was way too rushed still liked it but probably because I really love Tokyo Ghoul I'm hoping after I buy and read all the manga things will make more sense to me

I hope everyone enjoyed reading this and I would love to hear some of the shows you liked that came out in 2018

Darling in the Franxx was definitely a diamond in the rough, in the sense that it's hyped up because "new waifu with demon horns" rather than for its story. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, or that I would have a new anime to put in my top 10. DITF was easily AOTY for me partly due to the abysmal anime releases we had the past year. Tokyo Ghoul couldn't even pull off a proper third season and that's about as mainstream normie anime as you can get.

The other heavy hitter for me was the return of Ainz-sama and his demonic cast of anti-heros for Overlord season 3. I wish I could say it was better than it was, but I just can't. It was a solid addition to the series but fell flat on its face mid way through. Hopes and prayers for a 4th season but after the poor fan reception I'm not too convinced it'll happen.

Overall pretty poor year for anime but this has been a downward trend for a while.

My list of favorite shows in 2018 is pretty small.

1. The rest of Dragon Ball Super. Absolutely loved the big finish to the series and cant wait to see what comes after the next movie.

2. Aggretsuko. Surprisingly good show. binge watched it all in a single night.

3. Hinamatsuri. A good one.

4. My Hero Academia. I enjoy the show but Deku is such a bitch it infuriates me.

5. Citrus. Lol.

My favourites from the 2018 season would be:
  • Asobi Asobase
  • The Disastrous Life of Saiki K season 2
  • Food Wars season 3
  • Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory
  • Grand Blue
  • Hinamatsuri
  • My Hero Academia season 3
  • The Seven Deadly Sins season 3

The overall quality of anime releases over the year weren't too bad, the better releases made up for the poor ones, it is just a shame there weren't more good releases. It does seem like 2019 will be bringing a good selection of continuations for older series which will make for some solid groundwork for the year to come.

I need to watch the my hero academia series! I know a person irl who watched it and loves it. I think a few people on TTG also enjoyed season 3 so I will have to catch up if I want to talk to them about it.

I did enjoy Bunny Girl Senpai and am happy to hear that they will release a movie this year for it!

I really wanted to watch this:

https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2018/01/21/3d-kanojo-real-girl-anime-announced-for-april-2018-premiere

But it isnt available on Crunchyroll so I will have to wait until it becomes available through other means I guess.

I have been watching bunny girl Senpai with my friend we are almost done but we are both enjoying it alot But I did find the show becoming a little confusing at times but I do have faith that I will put the pieces together when I'm done watching and get the full story and actually see the ending. We are planning on finishing it up tomorrow night before I leave on a little trip so I'll probably update this after I'm done fully watching to give my final thoughts on the show.

I also did not know about the movie me and my friend both said multiple times during watching that this show would make a great movie so I can't wait to see what they do with the movie.
