I've owned 3 Volkswagens in my life. Two Golf MK4s, and my current Jetta MK6. I will also be buying another Volkswagen after I'm finished with my MK6.

In total, the worst issues I've had were when my shifter cable broke in my 2nd MK4 Golf, and when the A/C in my MK6 would cut off when I accelerated, and blow hot air and engine fumes through my vents. Luckily, I was under warranty and avoided the roughly $1300 repair. ( This is the price the guy at the dealership gave me when I asked, he coulda been bullshitting me. )

Other than that, I had zero issues, amazing gas mileage and it almost never takes me more than $20/$25 dollars to completely fill the tank. VW also has A LOT of after market support.

I can't lie, the new Camrys look fantastic, but I'll always be a VW fan. I will say since you're considering a 2019 Jetta, do your own research, this is a new generation of Jetta, and VWs ( MK7/R-Line). They may have a few kinks to work out.

Good luck with your car search!

If your going looks get the Camry, they both are reliable but I'd go with the Volkswagen over that Camry for reliability.
