Starting doings some basic coding in Gmod and made a HUD for a friend's Star Wars server.
Any opinions/improvements you think it could do with?
Do note it is supposed to be minimalistic so no suggestions like 'make fancy backgrounds/add pictures', etc. pls.

The empty bar is above the name is where an XP bar will go once the system is implemented.
The bars above and below the HP bar are where armor goes if the player gets any, as shown here

I do like the look of the HUD, it is simple although unsure about some of it, could just be me. Id personally reposition the compass from bottom right to top center, although with that menu that appears at 1:03, probably wouldn't work.

Not sure about the armor HUD. Can a player have two types of armor? Why is it above and below health? Does it show any values regarding how much you have or it is all based on looking at the line?

Id personally move the XP down or the Health above the name. Feels like they should be kept together.

Edit: Not sure about the animation of the HUD that appears at the bottom right. If that only appears for you, it works fine, although if its global and everyone sees it, Id like to see how well it works when its busier and more stuff pop up if you understand were I am coming from.

The menu at 1.03 is the weapon selection menu so I could position the compass at the top but it would be obscured partially.

Only 1 type of armor but the idea behind two bars is because one bar looked pretty naff on its own. This way the armor is kind of an 'overshield' on the health bar. The health number is based on % of max hp (I forgot to add the % to the string when I made this gif a few days back).
There aren't any armor values because the amount of armor itself doesn't affect the damage you take. You essentially will take 33% less damage when you have armor and normal damage when you don't have it.

I don't know whether to move the XP bar down or not because it still has other thing to be added to it (what your current level is, how much xp you have, etc.) which I think would take up a lot of space.

The popups in the bottom right are only local they are basically game tooltips.

I notice in this gif I made a couple of days ago that the ammo isn't central when holding a grenade but that's since been fixed.
