Hi there thanks for taking the time to give me your opinion, below I have the specs of the two PCs that I am debating between and could use another opinion to help me decide.
Option 1: Intel Core i7-7700K, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, 16GB DDR4-2400, 480GB SATA SSD, 2TB HDD for $1500 Option 2: Intel Core i7-7700K, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4-2400, 480GB SSD, 2TB HDD for $2000 Both are the Corsair one system. As you may have noticed the difference is 16 vs 32 ram and 1080 vs 1080ti. I am wondering if the cost will be worth the upgrade. I plan on getting with a 1440 or 1080 monitor with 144 refresh rate. My concern is how future proof will the system be and will the ram make a difference in gaming quality? I enjoy star citizen and have heard that ram can affect performance. Again thank you and any insight will be appreciated. And yes I'm sure I could build a system for cheaper but that is not appealing to me, I'm willing to pay the premium for the form factor of the pc. And I believe both are fairly priced. |

If you want to render game clips or other edits i would recommend option 2.
But if you just want to play, the option 1 is enough ;) |

nolanberollin wrote get the 1080 16gb one and upgrade the ram I've considered that option but couldn't figure out exactly which ram I would upgrade it with, all the 32 gig kits I found seemed to be in the $400 dollar range. Was I just looking at the wrong stuff? |

I would go with number two. You would spend close to the difference of the two upgrading the ram in option 1. |

I would say the first one. The $500 extra for the ti and 16gbs of ram doesnt seem worth it to me. |

Go with option 1. When your computer starts to cause issues, upgrade. |

I'd say there's no practical need for 32GBs of ram if you're just gaming. I'd say go with option 1 and use that money for a potential upgrade down the line. |
