Flashing red lights. The dreaded Red Ring of Death.
A quick Google search will give you a lot of information about the RRoD, it's a problem that plagued the 360 for the duration of its lifetime. The good thing? You've found a fix for it, even if it might be temporary. The bad thing? You probably won't be able to fix it without sending it to Microsoft or just buying a new console. Usually 3 lights is a hardware or power supply problem and I have for sure seen the hard drive being responsible for a RRoD. You can try simply getting a new hard drive and see if that works? Keep doing what you're doing and deal with that stress of unplugging everything, putting it all back, etc. or you can try to contact Xbox and see what they can do. With this all being said, good luck figuring it out and welcome to TTG! Hope to see you stick around once you get this problem under control cause it's a great site |

Althought 3 rings usually means you're **** sometimes there's fixes and also theres a power brick problem i think that shows 3 rings. I used to prank my friend by barely unplugging the power brick and it'd show the RROD but that may be 2 or 4 i don't remember. |

Replace the hard drive. Should fix the issues
Simple as that you answered your own question by doing exactly the steps to take. By disconnecting everything. You found the issue. |
