Most people do not spend much money on their first vehicle, so you'd want something reliable because cars that are cheap have a lot of miles on them, so I suggest a Toyota or Honda.

Get a Subaru! An Impreza would be a great car for any beginner. They're AWD, reliable, fuel-efficient, & extremely fun to drive! If you want something with more power, you could get a WRX. They cost more than a standard Impreza, but it's a nice car.

I would recommend 1) Honda Civic 2) Toyota Corolla 3) a good ol GM car. i suggest these because they're a dime a dozen so parts as usually cheap, and easy to find which is great especially if you are not buying brand new with warranty. Also Toyota has one of the greatest re sale value across the board something else to consider. Personally i have owned a 09 Dodge ram 5.7L, 07 Jeep liberty, 09 Subaru WRX, and will be buying a 2010 Subaru STI this weekend... dont recommend ANY of these based on personal experience unless you have quite the amount of extra funds to go with it lol

I think I also wanna add that there always time where you can find a stupid good deal and in that case it's good to jump on it... the deals that craigslist never sees... I work for a tow and service company so I see people trying to get rid of cars cheap all the time... I'm about to go look at what looked like a mint 96 jeep with 120k .... so deals are out there you just gotta hunt, its gonna be cheaper because she was about to donate it.... older woman stopped driving it because it handled badly in snow

It really all depends on where you live, and what you want to get out of it. If you're located somewhere where there is snow on the ground, I would definitely go with an AWD car, such as a older Subaru Impreza or something. They're cheap and parts for them aren't too bad. But if you're somewhere where there is no snow, I'd go with something more reliable and good on gas like a Toyota or Honda. Preferably Honda for a first car, especially if you're looking for a daily or beater. Something you don't really have to care about much and parts are really cheap.

An older or newer Toyota or Honda
Something like a corolla, accord, etc
Usually are cheap, if you want a new one you can get low monthly payments, good insurance rates, and great gas mileage. Also, parts to repair are usually cheap!
