AMD Build
pcpartpicker.com/list/8CNDYT The AMD build has more value but with a slight hit in performance but nothing you'll really notice. Ryzen 7 2700X is an 8-core processor with the ability to overclock. If you're not going to overclock, I suggest getting the 2700 version of the processor to save money. You can save even more money if you get rid of the CPU cooler as the 2700 version comes with one. The only other difference between this build and the Intel build below are the motherboards. They're different because AMD CPU's have a different socket type then Intel. Intel Build pcpartpicker.com/list/WHPcw6 Intel CPUs have great single core performance and tend to perform better in gaming. Although, you do pay more and get less. The i5 9600k is only a 6-core processor which is two less cores than the Ryzen 2700X. If gaming is really all you're doing then I suggest going with the Intel build but if streaming or video editing may happen in the future, go with the AMD build. The only other thing I would recommend is getting a 1080p 144hz monitor or a 1440p 144hz monitor if you have any extra cash. These are both great 1080p 144hz monitors amazon.com/Acer-XFA240-bmjdpr-Res...amp;sr=8-4, and amazon.com/Sceptre-C248B-144R-24-...amp;sr=8-6. Here's a 1440p 144hz monitor amazon.com/AOC-CQ32G1-Frameless-2...&psc=1. |
