I've always been to scared to 4x4 launch any of my trucks but I have done my fair share of racing in this truck lol.
Unfortunately these 2010 build date 2011's are known for dropping valve seats and that's what happened to mine. A new engine is 8k, then I need the fuel system and labor so all in all it's about a 15k fix. |

UnrealApp wrote002 wrote I've always been to scared to 4x4 launch any of my trucks but I have done my fair share of racing in this truck lol. Well I might be in luck. I posted it for sale for 11k and got TONS of people wanting to get it. A guy had called and asked me why I think it needs a new engine so I told him what it's doing, showed him the videos, and told him I took it to ____ shop and they said it's blown. He asked if Mark was the one who looked at it. I was surprised he knew that name as that's the guy I talked to. This guy owns a diesel shop and fired Mark because he was scamming customers and even told the guy that called me his truck needed an engine so he put an engine in then sold his old engine with nothing wrong with it. Long story short, the guy told me he'd like to look at it to make sure it is an engine issue. He also said the quote at 15k is ridiculous, it's about 9k. He thinks Mark told me that to buy my truck for cheap (which he did offer to buy it) and fix whatever issue is wrong with it to sell it and make a ton of money. |

Well, the official synopses is that the crank shaft cracked, threw the engine out of timing and took a couple pistons with it. In what order it happened I don't know, but I do know it needs a new engine so I am officially out of the diesel truck world. I don't know if I'll get another one for my next truck or not, I'll probably get a gasser half ton.

Block is intact, I believe the heads are shot though. I don't want to drop a bunch of money for another diesel though. |
