Haven't played Pokmon in years. Yup sounds about right. Being the first original for GB color and then they like re did it fans went crazy. |

Haven't played Pokmon in years. Nintendo games are usually more expensive for 2 reasons. One, Nintendo just doesn't really price match or put things on sale much. An easy example would be Skyrim. Skyrim Special Edition on Steam, Xbox and PlayStation is $39.99. But for Nintendo Skyrim (doesn't say special edition) is $59.99. 3DS games go on sale quite often, but when the 3DS was still getting games made, you would be lucky to see a sale. But their home consoles, very rarely see a sale. Smash 4 for the Wii U is STILL $59.99 when it's been out for almost 5 years and was surpassed by Smash Ultimate and Smash 4 is considered to be one of the worst Smash games by a lot of players, both casual and competitive. Right now it sits in between 4 and Brawl being seen as the worst, but still. The second reason, is the rarity of games and their older consoles and how people sell them. Back in 2014, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door unopened was selling for near $400 and The Legend of Zelda Windwaker -- same condition was $400, creeping upwards to $500. Hell, even GameCube controllers from the actual GameCube era are stupid expensive, Amazon is literally selling a white GameCube controller that is from the GameCube era for $188.54. The DS Pokemon games held up their price for a long time and still maintain it because DS systems aren't made anymore, nor is the Pokemon games onto there. Plus a lot of people are starting to get into competitive Pokemon and some meta Pokemon HAVE to be transferred over from Gen 4 and 5 for certain moves that can't be obtained any legit way in recent games or they have Hidden Abilities that want to get, that again, can't be from obtained current games. I'll end it with this screenshot. Sure, they are on sale because the seller probably wants to get rid of the stock they have amassed, but some of these games should not be this much money; there are a few reasonably priced, but only a select few. Sure they may be older games, but a lot of those games before the sale are trying to be sold at a price point that Nintendo deems for games on a 3DS -- which isn't getting anything new. If you go looking for N64, SNES, GameCube, Nintendo DS games and maybe GameBoy, you're going to be in some disbelief by what people try to sell them for at times. https://i.imgur.com/ZTJshdL.png |

TaigaAisaka wrote Yes Nintendo is doing very well, but they need more older classics in their genre. Adding more say star fox games, like star fox assault and star fox adventures would help a lot. Also adding super mario sunshine a timeless classic to the catalog. They need to worry about older games more than newer games, it will bring more people who played than the new generation. |

Yeah, more older games would be awesome. Maybe even some remasters? Wouldn't be bad to see |

TTG wroteTaigaAisaka wrote I don't think Nintendo will start releasing GameCube games on the Switch - yet - but they did say during the direct when Mario Maker 2 had its release date shown, that they have a goal to release a lot more of their older games through the Nintendo Online service on the Switch like they're currently doing with the NES and SNES. I'm sure eventually we'll get to GameCube games or maybe they'll do something like Sega did in the GameCube with the Sonic Mega Collection, which released a bunch of older sonic games onto the GameCube. Nintendo could probably eventually do something like that in categories like "Nintendo all Stars" would be Mario, Zelda, Pokmon, Kirby, Star Fox (I would say Metroid but I'm pretty sure Prime Trilogy is around the corner so no point in putting that on since those are the only Metroid games on GameCube.) Then the more 'niche' games that the GameCube had, compiled into their own such as "fan favourites" or something along those lines |
