Hey, dads 50th is coming up and hes been needing a new pc for awhile so im lookling to build him a nice one. He doesnt play any games really just uses it mainly for work or watching videos. Looking for a pretty quick build preferably Ryzen and a 500gb ssd installed into it.

What is your budget and currency? 500-600GBP
Do you need a monitor? no
Do you need a keyboard? no
Do you need a mouse? no
Do you need an operating system? no
What will you use the PC for? Mainly daily use web browsing, youtube etc!

I Have an NZXT h500i already from a mate and a GTX 970 from my previous build because i thought i'd just throw that in there incase he wanted to play a game or so further down the line.

thanks for your time

Honestly, you'd be fine with even an R5 2400G. The R5 2600 is similarly priced though and since you have a discrete GPU anyway, that could be a good shout if you just want to build asap. Zen 2 is only a couple of weeks away now though and looks like it's going to be pretty good so I would personally just hold off for Zen 2.

Yeah was looking into the 2600 before! Definitely will take your advice and wait for Zen 2 though! His birthday isn't till the end of next month anyway so it works out well! Thanks again 21!
