I am planning to build my first pc in the near future and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve it. The build costs £1100 and the maximum I'm willing to spend is £1200. I already have a 1080p 144hz monitor.

That build doesn't float with me
Requesting a list of parts (Simple form) A simplified list of things we need to know when you request a PC build. If you don't answer these questions, we will ask them or simply refer you to this post. What is your budget and currency? (Pound sign does not work normally, use GBP abbreviation) Do you need a monitor? Do you need a keyboard? Do you need a mouse? Do you need an operating system? What will you use the PC for? |

PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (£188.97 @ Aria PC) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard (£96.00 @ PC World) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£67.77 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Intel 660p Series 1.02 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (£94.96 @ CCL Computers) Storage: Seagate Barracuda Computer 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£53.50 @ AWD-IT) Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB GAMING X Video Card (£429.98 @ Box Limited) Case: Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower Case (£69.95 @ CCL Computers) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (£72.48 @ Ebuyer) Total: £1073.61 If you're gonna get an aftermarket cooler for the CPU, get the Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4. I'd probably just use the included cooler with the CPU though, at least for now. For GPU, keep an eye on RTX 2070's. Some good deals on those now that the RTX Super cards have launched. I'd also keep an eye out for RX 5700XT's because those offer similar performance to an RTX 2070 and AIB partner 5700XT's should be available soon now. Just don't buy a 5700XT with that shitty reference cooler. If you wanna spend the extra 100 quid for the R7 3700x, then you can. I probably wouldn't, since you won't notice much difference(if any) in games. If you're going to utilise the extra cores/threads then you might be better with an R7 2700(x) as there are some ridiculously good deals on those currently. |
