Hello, I'm about to build my first PC and was hoping to get some more feedback. I've been wanting to build for a couple of months, so I've done plenty of research and I don't want to change too much anymore. I'd like a PC which will last for a long time.
Currently my main concern is compatibility. Since I have a little left in my budget (about 60 Euro) I was also wondering what part would be best to spend a little more on for the best performance boost or for the PC to be more future proof. - Budget: 700 Euro (NL) - I got monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers and win 10 key. Might add another monitor later. - I'll be purchasing all parts mid-August. - Will be using mainly for games, but also for browsing and possibly a little video editing. I'm planning on mainly playing Starcraft 2. Next to that I like playing shooters and adventure games, so good graphics are nice, but I don't need the best of the best. I don't care much about the looks of the PC and I'm not too worried about noise. A few months ago the 2600 seemed like the best choice for me and since the price has gone down I'm pretty sure this is what I'm going for. I considered the 3600, but it doesn't seem to be worth the extra 85 for me. Motherboard B350 and B450 seem good for me, B450 is simply better. I think the X370/470/570 will be overkill. The Tomahawk has been suggested to me and seems like a solid option. Memory Ryzen works good with high frequency memory, so I wanted at least 3kHz. I considered going for 8GB, but I think I won't need an upgrade for a long time with 16GB. I choose the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3000 because it seems to be a good brand. The CL15 version is 11 more and the 3200 version is 20 more, one of those might be worth the extra? GPU At first I wasn't even sure if I wanted a dedicated GPU, but since it's my first build I want it to be at least decent. So I just went with the cheapest RX 570 I could find. My budget doesn't allow much better GPU's (could go for RX 580, it's 35 more). Might upgrade in the future if I feel the need to in 2-3 years or so. Storage At first I wanted to get the Crucial MX500 500GB, but since I can get PCIe for the same price, I figured why not?. The Kingston A1000 seems like a good choice. It costs about the same and has much faster read and write speeds. If I ever need more capacity I'll add a HDD, for now 480GB is enough. PSU I'm looking for something stable and reliable, so I want a decent gold certified PSU. At first I wanted to go with the Corsair RM550x (2018), because of the good reviews and 10 year guarantee, but the price went up. The Seasonic is quite similar and about 15 cheaper. I've heard some bad stuff about it, but I think recently there haven't been any problems with these PSU's, so I think I'll take my chances. Case I wanted to go for the NZXT H500 or Sharkoon AI7000. Managed to get the Sharkoon for only 29.95, which I thought was an amazing deal. It comes with 3 fans, I don't think I'll need any more for cooling. Optical drive Got a few games on discs which I want to play, so I just wanted an internal optical drive. p.s. I've been using the same laptop for the past 9 years, as long as the PC works it will be a massive upgrade for me. |
