So im putting together a build for my girlfriend and we are spending about 1k aud.
I have put this together
au.pcpartpicker.com/list/b3XqYT

This is so we can leave some money aside for a monitor and potentially a keyboard. I got a spare not sure if it works but cheaper the better but want something that can at least play sorta modern game. GTA V, sims, minecraft overwatch etc. Just not sure if I should change anything.

Im Spec'ing a build myself, and am learning fast. The one thing that jumps out at me instantly is the memory. 8GB is hardly enough for anything but basic gaming - and memory is cheap right now (likely to rise towards/after Christmas).

If you can afford a little extra I go with 2 x 8GB stick for 16GB total.

Yea honestly the ram is the only thing I was sorta on the fence about. I think I might do just the 8gb and if she needs it she can always just wack 2 more ram sticks in.

Looks good to me but could heat up in heavy gaming.

The only issue is your ram. The speeds need to be no less than 3000mhz. The higher the better. Ryzen LOVES ram speed for performance. Also only 8gb in todays standards is really low. You will max that out easily if you plan on doing any actual gaming. I would look for a 2x8gb kit. Look around and do lots of research. You will find better prices on stuff such as ram.
