Let's get one thing straight, no school should ever allow anything to do with firearms at all. No 5-13 year old should know how to use or even hold a gun, problem isn't guns in this country is those who feel the need to bully or do something stupid to someone to the point where they give up and feel the need that killing is the answer for everything .

You want kids, to wield firearms, in a school :monkas:
Whether it's in a controlled setting or not, you're advocating kids to have the opportunity to handle firearms, at school

So because your sister was taught archery, young kids should also receive firearm training?

I took a hunters safety class out of school when I was 8. Before that guns were whatever to me. You're taught about proper handling, storage, and care of weapons. After that 8 hours straight of learning, I felt safer around weapons. I will buy my child a rifle when they are a kid as my father did me and all my friends fathers. I can understand that it sound crazy to let a kid have a weapons, but that doesn't mean they can use it like an Xbox where they can just take it to a friends and shoot for fun. Firearms are tools as much a chainsaw, angle grinder, welder, torch is. Also I feel in the cities there's a stigma towards guns due to gang violence and whatnot, but here that's not an issue so we can see the other side of it.

Of course not at school, and I'm not saying elementary grade kids. I mean high schoolers who take a firearms safety class can go to a firing range and learn the aspects from the people who give out conceal carry permits or hunters safety permits. But I also don't believe in gun free zones, I think common sense should dictate where guns should and shouldn't be allowed, at least openly brandished like carrying a big Blackhawk .44 on your hip in the open in a bank. Obviously not in schools, government buildings, etc.. I used the archery as a stepping stone, the kids are 10 and understand the safety of archery, and they do that IN the gyms. That's just crazy to me.

Js a BANK is a government building. Also I don't where you're from and I honestly at this point careless, doesn't matter what you sister does. At the end of the day Guns will never be held by high schoolers unless you're in JROTC or such and one more thing, No privileged kid is going to hold a gun, i was raised in brooklyn and i always had a gun on since 13 I'm in the army and i still got my guns. Also Once again Video games doesn't cause violence i hate when people decide to bring video games into the picture yeah when you play a video game like GTA V or even IV i always thought the game was badass

I'm not familiar with Brooklyn but where i'm at we have private banks called credit unions. These are not government owned but privately owned and they are more popular here. But I agree nonetheless. I just used my sisters example as a point to mention kids can learn safety with tools they are taught early on. Also see the high school part of age. You're of age in high school to own a long rifle (18). I've also had a gun since 13, not on me but in a gun-safe.

I love guns. I grew up with guns as a kid, my grandfather would teach me how to properly dissemble modern guns at the time and his WW2 rifles, put them back together, proper cleaning, everything. Used to go hunting rather frequently, have been shooting guns since shit, 6 years old or so and now I'm getting into gun smiting and want to start collecting WW1 and WW2 era weapons.

The problem isn't the guns, it's simply mental health. People who always stick by "oh it's the gun's fault, ban them now!" but if a stabbing happens or a DUI death happens, suddenly it's the person's fault that took the life of the other. Then you have people look at an AR-15 and somehow they get scared because it looks military and they call it an "assault" rifle, yet a Mini-14 that is almost identical in every way, is blipped past them. People are reacting to fear instead of actually bothering to experience/research anything. The people in the above example I have given I believe "suffer" from cognitive dissonance, where no matter the facts, they're going to react and stick to their emotions, the same way anti-vax parents act all up in arms with regards to vaccines because someone on Facebook posted a video or some shit that just so happened to hit them the right way, so now they're sticking to it.

The problem isn't the gun, it's people/mental health. Shit, we've been killing each other way before guns were invented, sometimes even for fun/sport. You go back in history, deaths then were much more violent and worse than guns. Humans are shitty, simple as that. Sure, guns make things easier, I'll give someone that, but even without guns people know how to kill people and can still do it with ease. Most people use cars as an example/replacement of guns and sure that's fine, but I'll do one better. I'm willing to bet my bank account that underneath your sink and maybe in your pantry, you have the ingredients to make budget chlorine gas that would easily have an effect on at least 3 house lengths across your neighbourhood if a big enough quantity used, and if the right materials, a budget chlorine gas bomb. Would take not even 2 minutes for me to type up how to make it, would not take a person more than 10 minutes to actually make it. It's easier to make and even buy the stuff needed for it than it would be buying a gun or a car and would easily be a more immediate threat in any sort of crowded public space or indoor building that a gun or car would.

Before anyone wants to assume I'm some gun loving hick from the south:

A) I live in California currently, one of/if not the strictest area for guns in America.
B) I grew up in Russia and we have very strict gun laws, even on little BB guns you need a license to own. Your first gun has to be a shotgun, that you must own for over 5 years and demonstrate every possible experience with it that you can think of. Then you can apply for a license to get a rifle, you're shit out of luck if you want semi automatics or a pistol if you aren't a retired police officer or military. Owning either semi auto rifle or pistol without meeting the credentials, is jail time and heavy fines, and we all know how Russian prisons are. I could go down to south east Moscow, call someone's mother a whore and I would bet my bank, I would be shot by a pistol. I could go near the border of Chechnya and call the people there worthless rats (long time history between the two areas) and I would be basically firing squaded by people with pistols. We have very strict gun laws in place, and yet we have a higher murder rate than what happens in America, people/criminals do not follow laws, I mean, when you can literally get sent to hard labour for owning a pistol in Russia and people still decide to own one and even then carry them on their person, clearly shows those type of laws really don't work.

That's where I'm going to leave that. If someone doesn't like guns because they don't like them or don't see a need for them, fine. If someone is reacting to emotions and then gets to the point that they start showing cognitive dissonance where anything against their belief is drowned out, then they seriously need to go experience the world more. The fact of the matter is, humans are shitty, killing each other has been used as a sport/fun/entertainment in the past, executions used to be pretty public - still are in some areas - and we've been killing each other since the dawn of man, whether you believe 6,000 years ago or hundreds of thousands of years ago or whatever. Humans have the great ability to come up with the most outlandish ideas when they have a goal to accomplish, I'm sure people have seen the potheads that turn into damn near engineers when they need something to burn a dime bag and don't have an actual pipe/bong. Same goes for killing, people have always gotten creative when it needs to be, guns may be the hot topic now, but who knows where it's at a few years from now as more and more stuff come to the public eye. As humans evolve, so does the method of killing. The issues in America are just humans being shitty in general and mental health.

I recently traveled to visit family down south in Alabama (insert Alabama jokes here). When i was talking to my uncle about firearms and the rules down here he informed me if he went to a gun store or Walmart and bought in bulk it would be an immediate call to the local sheriff. I don't know why really but I like Federation live in New England and i can order any amount of ammo and be completely fine with no police visits or questions.

Bruh California you need to do a background check for ammo now, you need to have your birth certificate, license and a utility bill, like who keeps the birth certificate and utility bill on them at all times lmfao.

Edit: And you can't ship ammo to California anymore, not even to an FFL dealer, so there's that.
