Need to know the motherboard, power supply, and definitely cooler, don't overclock with a stock cooler.

If you don't already have a water cooler, or a larger air cooler, don't waste the money on that when you could spend less to return that CPU and get something like a 2600 instead.

No one is good at overclocking. All depends on your luck with your hardware.

Just about any motherboard today will have if not a switch or button will have it in their UEFI/Bios to enable a preset overclock or will have data collected on what your PC "should be able to handle" and adjust accordingly.

If you think overclocking will help your PC go faster, it won't actually be as noticeable as you might think it would be, especially on the AMD side for CPUs. If you think your PC is slow and overclocking will help, I'd recommend taking a look at your read/write speeds of your HDD and opting for a new one or an SSD. Overclocking really only makes it so you can get some applications like rendering and publishing in blender, unity, etc. faster in terms for gaming you'd be lucky to see major changes passed 2-7 FPS.

By no means is overclocking bad, I do it, but to the degree that I can keep my system quiet and runing below 55C, hence why I'm using liquid metal and delidded my CPU and bought a custom IHS and lapped it down to be as flat as possible. I also replaced my thermal pads with better ones too. Which allows me to 4.9GHz at 54C and sit there.
