Hey a newbie here..
I have a xbox 360 jasper and it has a small issue.. the disc tray does not open no matter what I do. I have had this issue before and I have seen a video from a guy name screwattack or something like that before but now I can't find his video. And the other videos don't help.. can you suggest a way?? My warranty's over in case you guys are wondering. Can we post videos here directly?? If so I can show you guys.. |

Pull the face plate off and poke a paperclip
In the small hole under the tray. That will manually release it my man |

simonknowsstuff wrote Hey a newbie here.. You need to replace the band inside the DVD drive. Over time they get worn out and stretch out a lot. You can replace them with a black hair tye. they are the size of a dime round. They are the small rubber band like hair tye. |

My old 360 used to have problems with the disc tray... I found a light smack on top of it would usually persuade it to come out lol. Could be worth a try. |

How can I access the disc tray and replace the rubber band?? Do I have to open the xbox as a whole or is it possible to just remove the faceplate?? Might be a dumb question but..
My warranty's over but the thing is run my xbox with a PC PSU and I've had it working only since 4 days. It only worked when I cleaned the xbox inside and when I straightened the capacitors.. Don't wanna mess anything up |

My 360 did that and i had to smack it at first but by the end of it i had to hit a very certain spot w a hammer. I am very tech savvy and it broke my heart every hit but it actually worked lol. |

Mine doesn't open, I found poking a knife under the tray and keep pressing the button opens it. While pulling up on the knife to try pry it open. And if I leave a disc inside (a blank disk) it will always open after, but once I close it without a disk, it won't open again. |

I fixed the tray by tearing down the Xbox and taking off the cd tray. I then took the rubber band off the cd tray, dipped it 5 minutes in water and then put it back. Now it works like intended.
Thanks for your replies though... Really awesome of you guys! |
