Looking to get a build for a guy I work with. He doesn't want to break the bank, but he does want to be able to do VR on this rig, along with light gaming(1080P 30FPS) and musical stuff(He has a small home made recording studio).
Budget: 700USD, would prefer to stick as close as possible. Need: Just the tower. Already have keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc. Usage: Medium setting games for games like GTA V, Virtual Reality, and music editing software. Preferred looks: Plain and simple. Plain black, preferred with a side panel. Like this: amazon.com/gp/product/B07VLJZNJY?th=1 |

What software for the music side of things (production and all)
What monitor is he going to be driving? What other games? VR is vague, some other titles would help out. |

PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ($119.98 @ Amazon) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard ($114.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Team T-FORCE VULCAN TUF Gaming Allian 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($70.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital Blue SN550 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($64.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 GB Twin Fan Video Card ($219.99 @ Amazon) Case: Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case ($59.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: SeaSonic S12III 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($49.99 @ B&H) Total: $700.92 Although I'd honestly just spend an extra $5 for 3600MHz RAM at this point, and I'd personally definitely be spending an extra $10-15 for a semi-modular PSU. That's just because I can't stand using a non-modular PSU though, and am a bit of a PSU snob. If you want to save some money with a cheaper motherboard; pcpartpicker.com/product/dQgzK8/a...b450m-pro4 not as nice looking, or as good quality as a B450 Tomahawk MAX though, and it's not really worth the $40 saving IMO unless you have a really tight budget. Then again, that $40 is enough to get a 1TB SSD instead of 500GB, or 32GB RAM instead of 16GB, so it's up to you. |
