I am a music producer as well as a heavy gamer and I'm building a PC to phase out my old rig. I'd love some feedback from the lovely people on The Tech Game on what you guys and gals think about the spec list for my upcoming build. I would also love to hear any changes that you guys would make. My budget is $4,500 including peripherals.

If you're doing music and you have a high budget you really should think about a PC case with Sound damping. A friend of mine has a home studio and the hum from his computer used to be picked up so he had to switch the whole build into a sound damping case.
I have no idea if you will be using live mics etc but if so then you really should switch the case. laptopsdirect.co.uk/corsair-carbi...gJuHvD_BwE It's a very overkill build someone may be able to get you more for you money but my advice is spend more on the case. |

This is a good point actually.. something I forget about quite often. Might even be worth spending more for a fanless PSU, and skipping mechanical HDD's altogether for OP so he could build a completely silent(or almost completely silent) system. OP - Are you really dropping 4 grand on a system? It looks like you've just done "sort by: price high>low" for a bunch of stuff here. RTX 2070 Super doesn't belong in a $4k system. I don't think the 2080Ti is a particularly good GPU to buy honestly and I personally wouldn't buy anything higher end than a 2070 Super(for now), but if you're dropping that much anyway, a 2070 Super definitely doesn't make sense. For the parts list- Why spend $90 on a wi-fi adapter that's going to use up a PCIe slot, rather than an extra $20 for the variant of the motherboard you've chosen that has built in wi-fi? $600 for RAM? Even for 64GB, that's just silly. Enthoo Pro is a decent case, or it used to be, but it's really old now- I would definitely get something newer. $150 for Win10? pls no. Use it for free, or buy a key for <$30. If you're really spending $4k then it would be handy if you could be a lot more specific with your use case. What programs will you be using exactly? What games will you be playing? What exactly do you need from this system? The 2080Ti really isn't worth the premium. You might be better off saving money, building a system for <$3k, potentially try to build a silent PC. Then with some of that leftover budget, build a separate small form factor NAS system to put in another room if you really need a lot of mechanical storage. |
