Im 22, Ive just broken up with my ex. Its my first serious relationship, Its only been a few days and we were together for around 2 years. We did not end on a bad note and still want to be friends. We have been texting back and forth a little bit each day since we broke up. Im struggling to come to terms with the fact there might not be any chance of getting back together! Since we are still in contact, It might make things more difficult to get over each other, although i dont want to move on.
Whats the best thing to do ? |

I heard that the best way to get over a breakup is to find someone else.
I know it's hard to forget about them but both of you have to figure out if you guys want to be together or not. |

There is fighting, (not physically I hope not) but at the end of the day does she still love you? And do you still love her? Talk about your problems don't be afraid to open up. If you really care about each other you can work things out no matter what the issue is. |

At the start i lied about some things(Which i regret), and closer to the end we just werent as happy as we once were. We both are from different childhoods, Like i work monday - friday, And she is from a wealthier family, Who took the university route in life so she lives around 100 miles away but we seen each other every weekend. Yes we still are in love with each other, But i am clinging onto hope that she will want me back, I dont know if thats the best thing to do. |

Sounds like you just need to call her and tell her how you feel. Even though you guys live far away you could still work something out. However, if she's going through college now just move on. Trust me, i went through something similar except we both went to college and were a couple hundred miles away apart. Arguing pursued which made life hell so we split ways and was the best thing I've ever done. |

I gave her things that i had of hers and she had a little kiss and cuddle as a goodbye. Yeah the arguing got worse as time went on but in a way it was me being ignorant etc. |

If you've lied about talking to someone else, tell her that it was a mistake and that you are very sorry. Let her know you want to spend the rest of your life with her. Because what's the point of dating if you are not planning to get married. Let her know you still love her and that you want to be with her forever. You were together for 2 years that's a while. I'm guessing you met her parents and even maybe some family relatives. All I can say is try working it out with her or try talking someone else if you want to move on. |
