Honestly, if just that response is "toxic" to you then you missed out on the late 2000's early 2010's for internet toxicity. Tom already mentioned MW2 lobbies, people that get offended now, forget it, MW2 lobbies back in the day would be death row for anybody that gets offended now easily. What that guy said is tame as hell, especially on Reddit, that response more falls in line with sarcastic and/or snarky. If you want to see toxicity, jump into any post for world news, politics, Steam vs EGS, anything that really has a divisive nature, jump into it on Reddit and you'll experience actual toxicity -- hell even memes can get toxic because someone took something too serious up their ass.
Anddddddddddddd 9 year olds now are a little more tech savvy than most of us were at 9. People in their early 20's to late 20's grew up in that weird era where technology was a big part of their life, but at the same time also not a big part of their life. Most everyone born after 2008 had technology in their life for a huge part of it, so I wouldn't doubt a 9 year old who has a passion/interest for editing videos or photos, being able to match the quality of where most people were at during the old CoD4, MW2 montages and shit. You've probably heard it from your parents or grandparents about how we wouldn't know half the shit they did growing up, physical labour wise because not everyone born in the 90s really had to access to as much because of that weird era for tech =/= no tech. Late 2000's kids are the same, they grew up on tech more than we did, so they're not as illiterate as most kids were at that time before them. I'm sure you've seen videos of parents trying it between the generation gap, someone in their very late teens to early 20's knowing how to work a rotary dial phone, but someone who is like 10 or 11, that thing is a complete foreign object to them. Either way, it's the internet, it's just words on a screen, being shown through colour by a pixel in a series of virtual 1's and 0's. Someone is being shitty, shit talk back and leave it at that or just forget about it and move on. If they wasted their day to get under your skin and you let it happen, you can only blame yourself at that point since you can jump over to a new tab and do something else, while they're still there waiting to jump at you or even continuing talking to themselves when no one is responding back. |

If you can't handle comments like that on Reddit, I'm surprised you made it as far as you have..That wasn't even mild, that was practically frozen.
Don't let those kind of comments get to you, or else you'll be freaking out on every corner of the internet. Good luck to you |

There will always be toxic people on the internet and games, reddit seems pretty split between nice and toxic people from what i see alot are sarcastic, if you post something jumping on a bandwagon something that most people dont like you will get praised by most,
you just gotta live life not taking what people say seriously, If you dont know or care about them dont care about what they say probably easier said than done especially if its about something you care or are passionate about, Ive been in some groups myself on fb where people disagree with what ive said and after abit of banter shit talking back and forth was humorous a little bit of shit talking can be fun, especially in competative games gets the person annoyed they start playing worse or mabey even start sweating it out going try hard, tho i have been in a position that got me uncomfterable on fb where someone was shit talking and after i fired a few shots back they basically stalked my profile and started saying weird things about my family and even messaged my family since then ive hidden all public posts dont need strangers that get mad losing a roast message my family members lol. So i know what its like to be annoyed or to deal with toxic people If anyone can't handle a little shit talking just take a break from the internet for a few hours or block them, one thing me and my friend do sometimes is when people shit talk us when they are genuinely dicks or better than us we make them feel bad by being super nice and humble about it, when they say for example, wow your f**king sh*t why are you even playing, me and my mate go oh sorry man im still trying to learn and get better<3, or something like that alot of the time they take back what they say and start being nice too. |

You've just got to ignore them like you didn't see the message. I know its hard, but you do what you want to do because at the end of the day, whose he to tell you about what you do and who you are? There will always be negativity in the world as not every body will agree with you and the same happens with music producers and actors all the time.
You've just got to learn to ignore it and carry on doing what you enjoy. Try and turn the negative into a positive and set your mind to be like "You know what, I will prove you wrong!", if you can have that mentality, then you will go very far in life. #truewords |
