RTX 2070 or the RTX 2060 Super, they both cost around £350-£400 depending on which brand you go for. |

You won't see enough of a difference between the 1060 and 2060/70 to make the upgrade worth it.
Nividia's new cards come out in a couple months, save your money til then and just make a big upgrade that's actually worth your time. |

Then, a 2060 Super or 2070 is a further 10-15% performance improvement over the 6GB 2060. So yeah, there's a pretty gargantuan difference between a GTX 1060 and RTX 2060/2070. If OP is playing at 1080p144Hz or 1440p, then they would definitely notice a difference, I'd say that's a worthwhile upgrade. Also, I'm referencing a 6GB GTX 1060. OP has a 3GB GTX 1060 which is even going to be 10%+ slower than the 6GB variant. 3CH wrote Nividia's new cards come out in a couple months, save your money til then and just make a big upgrade that's actually worth your time. Source? Even if NVidia do launch a new generation within the next 6 months, what's to say it's actually going to be any better value than the current generation? Turing was worse value than Pascal at launch. I wouldn't hold hope out for a good performing, good value, brand new NVidia GPU this year if I'm being honest- not that it won't happen, I just wouldn't rely on that. OP - The best GPU you can buy depends on the rest of your specs and what you're actually looking for. What is the make and model of both your case and PSU? What CPU, Mobo, RAM are you running? What monitor(s) are you using? What exactly do you use your system for- what are you trying to achieve with this GPU upgrade exactly? |
