There's really not much point in having 144Hz on Xbox or PS4 to be perfectly honest with you as you don't really see the same difference if you was using a 144Hz monitor on PC. The compatibility that Xbox and PS4 have with higher Hz monitors are extremely low than what you will be outputting on PC. Don't get me wrong, these monitors work on console but if you're trying to choose between Hz and 4K, I would go with 4K as there is little to no difference and you get much sharper graphics out of 4K and higher visibility.

If you are looking for a monitor for FPS games you should also look for one that has 1MS response time, 144hz is good if the game on console can support it on xbox. But having the option for 4k and 60fps with 1ms response time is better, some games will support 1440p and 144hz as well. It just depends on the games and your type of play style.

Mainly just call of duty do you think I'm best off with a 4K one then?

The best option is to have a monitor that has 1MS response time, if you can get a monitor that can support 4k then that's the best way to go.

I'm torn between these

laptopsdirect.co.uk/lg-ultragear-...gIbUfD_BwE

The LG is a lot cheaper but looks similar or is it worth getting the Lenovo for that bit extra if someone could help it would be much appreciated

First of all, advertised response times are never accurate. Response time is not the whole story of a monitor anyway, so you can pretty much ignore response time.

Secondly, you won't be making use of a 144Hz display with a console anyway, so the extra cost over a 60Hz display is wasted. Either buy a 1080p60Hz display, or 4k60Hz.

You're not going to be getting a decent 4k panel for £200. You're looking at £250, at least. This is the cheapest 4k monitor I can find, but it's truly bottom of the barrel;

I wouldn't buy this tbh. LG have some 27" 4K IPS monitors that I've seen on sale for £250 occasionally. Otherwise, you should easily find a 27/28" 4K IPS/VA monitor for £300ish.

Alternatively, what I would probably be doing for a console, just buy a 4k TV. I've seen some 42/43" Toshiba/Hisense/etc models go on sale for £240/250 on Currys and Amazon.That's probably your best option for use with a console IMO.

Thanks for you're reply, so you think I'm better off with 4K rather than 144hz if I'm just using for console?
