Wanted to upgrade from a RX 580 for 1080p gaming and found a EVGA GTX 1080 for £300 GBP. Just looking but there are so many options

Not for £300, no. For closer to £200, it wouldn't be a bad shout.

For £300, you can get a brand new RTX 2060;

Same performance as a GTX 1080, but newer and you get RTX support.

You could save 30-40 quid with the AMD option;

5600XT is a little faster than the RTX 2060, but you lose RTX support and other NVidia features obviously.
