MWI have an Activision ID but my friends have their Gamertags?

| Another quick question. When I first signed on to Modern Warfare at the very beginning, I was given an Activision ID which I have changed but all of my friends just have their Gamertags? I wanted to have my Gamertag but when I go to change it, I can't have spaces, which I'd want. Is there a way to show my TRUE Gamertag in-game, and not just change it to a 'spacefree' version of it? |

I wanted to change it to my GT but I can't have spaces (like my GT does). So I just changed it so it's different in Modern Warfare, but obviously not on my Xbox. |
