I'm looking into getting a SSD for window and a few games. I'm I able to move windows over to the SSD or will I have to remove my current HDD and install windows on the SSD? If that's the case will having windows on both the HDD and SSD be a problem? If it is a problem how do I go about removing everything from the HDD? |

You can backup and then format your HDD, backup the files that you deem important and can't lose. Having two of the same OS' isn't really recommended.
I believe there is a way of 'transferring' an OS to another disk drive, but I don't know how reputable that is. |

I've had good experiences using Acronis True Image for that type of stuff. Basically the idea is to clone your current hard drive to your new SSD which is super easy with that tool. Acronis is what I use but you can download whichever utility that serves the same purpose.
will having windows on both the HDD and SSD be a problem? Not a problem as long as you know how to enter your BIOS and direct it to a different boot device. You could install windows on your new SSD and just transfer over any files you may want to keep if mirroring your HD is too much of a hassle for you. Honestly you have a few options to choose from when it comes to this type of stuff. Really just comes down to what you're comfortable with. |
