I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and with most of the cards being bought out i might end up having to get something other than what i planned. I was planning on getting an RTX 2070 super but might end up having to get a RTX 2080 as most 2070's are now sold out. So comparing specs i see that the 2070's have better core clocks but the 2080's have more cuda cores. So my question is, is it better to get a 2070 that has better core clocks or go with the 2080 that has more cores?
These are the two card I'm looking at RTX 2070 super RTX 2080 |

Xbox_Legend wrote 2080 vs 2070 super User benchmark is not a reliable source for actual performance numbers/statistics. OP - First of all, an RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2080 are going to perform nigh on identically. Like maybe a 5% difference, at best. Secondly, I'd have thought you would have a harder time finding an RTX 2080 in stock anywhere, considering they're not in production anymore as they've been superseded by the 2080 Super. If it's a Gigabyte 2070 Super you're after, B&H should have stock within the next week or 2 if you don't mind waiting; bhphotovideo.com/c/product/154339...super.html Alternatively, you could get a Founders Edition 2070 Super for $500. NVidia don't have stock, but Best Buy do; bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-r...Id=6361328 Or if you're after something a little flashier, Walmart have this EVGA 2070S for $540; walmart.com/ip/EVGA-GeForce-RTX-2...CR2mQEgQ00 From what I can see, you're looking at $650+ for an RTX 2080. At that point, you may as well just spend a little extra for a 2080 Super, but neither are worth the premium over a 2070 Super IMO. |
