I know its fairly early to even think about this but do you think the next gen Xbox or ps5 could be modded? If so how much do you think it could be worth? The price tag of the new Xbox is going to be supposedly much higher than last gens. I am very curious to even see if this is possible. |

I don't feel like it's going to be worth because of the price. It would be really cool to see happen, but I don't see it happening tbh |

I just want to experience the 2012 era of modding again |

Hate to say it but, the golden days of modding are far from making a comeback. Maybe in a few years or so the ps4 at least will show some type of of progress for online |

I doubt it will ever be possible, but if you want to mod on any game possible then you should just do so on PC, a lot of games have mods as a built in feature such as "BO3 and Steam Worskshop" on PC. |

No way, they've had ample time to continue building on the insane secruity they achieved with this gen. If it wasn't done this gen, as crippy said, it will probably never be done again.
BUT, that being said -- mistakes and oversight happen. Which is why we got the JTAG Era, so who really knows? Dev kits haven't even made it out of the hands of the devs yet so we really have no clue what an exploit could contain. We don't know what the infrastructure of the systems will be internally. We don't know what the software architecture will be based on. There's speculation, but until someone in the scene gets their hands on a XDK there's no way to tell. Personally, I don't think we'll ever have TRUE console mods again. The exploits from here into the future will probably be a lot like what they do to use the dupe glitch in MW/BLOPS4, probably exploited through the game and not the actual detriment of the console. The exploits will remain private so the chosen few can continue to run the scene, and the methods aren't patched. |
