I play 1080p 144fps I'm upgrading my sli 970s. on ebay the used 980ti's are going for under $200. The new 1660ti is $294 from what I've looked up the 980ti actually slightly out performs the 1660ti so is there any reason to not save the hundred or more and get the 980ti? |

The 1660Ti is faster than the 980Ti. Not hugely, but it is still about 5% faster. That gap is only likely to increase in modern games as well. Plus the 1660Ti is vastly more efficient than the 980Ti. Regardless, should get a GTX 1660 Super which just about matches a 1660Ti for $220ish. |

Us dollars not Canadian. Some of the bids on 980 ti's on ebay are as low as $140 so it would still be 90 dollars cheaper then even a 1660super. If I can get one for that price would you think thats more worth it? Also I've heard the 980ti is a beast at overclocking so would a decent overclock close that 5%gap? |

15thomasw wrote Us dollars not Canadian. Yeah, definitely don't pay $300 for a 1660Ti. $300 will get you an RTX 2060 which is 20% faster than a 980Ti, and has RTX/DLSS 2.0. 15thomasw wrote Some of the bids on 980 ti's on ebay are as low as $140 so it would still be 90 dollars cheaper then even a 1660super. If I can get one for that price would you think thats more worth it? I've not seen many 980Ti's go that cheap. More like $170/180 for 980Ti's from what I've seen. 220-140=80, so it's an $80 difference from a $140 980Ti to a 1660 Super. Regardless, up to you if you think the saving is worth it or not. The 1660 Super is the newer, better card but actual performance in games will be very similar for now. 15thomasw wrote Also I've heard the 980ti is a beast at overclocking so would a decent overclock close that 5%gap? No. |

Well thank you for the help. If I can get a 980ti for cheap enough I'll go that route if not ill spend the extra for the 1660 super. |
