This would be my suggestion. It bumps the price a little bit, but it is definitely worth it. I've paired the Ryzen 5 2600 with a 1660ti, and it runs beautiful. Guaranteed 144fps on most games, without any overclocking. If the budget is strict, I would pair this M.2 pcpartpicker.com/product/6j448d/w...ds500g2b0b With a used HDD. I know used parts aren't ideal, but you can get a 4TB at 7200rpm for the same price as the 1TB you found brand new on Amazon. I have never had problems using a used HDD from my local PC part place. I changed your PSU, because a non-modular one will be an absolute wreck when it comes to cable management. Shoving necessary cables at the bottom of the build can also hinder airflow. With a modular, it is worth it. I also changed the case, so the airflow isn't interrupted at all. The one I suggested has HDD/SSD bays in empty space in the bottom of the case. For a new builder, you want a roomier case than cramped. I hope I helped! |

Not a bad start, but I'd definitely make some changes.
First of all, that case is absolutely horrendous quality for the price, it competes with $20-30 cases. Secondly, that PSU needs to go. EVGA's low end units are all fairly poor quality. You can save $10 and get a better quality PSU. I'd swap a 1TB HDD+500GB SSD for a 1TB SSD any day of the week. Nice big SSD to last you for a while, and then you can add an HDD at any point. I wouldn't even bother buying a 1TB HDD these days, 2TB minimum IMO. Also do not buy Asu B450 mobo's. If you want an Asus motherboard, pay the extra $20 and get a B550 Prime Plus. Otherwise, if you're getting a B450 mobo, just get an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX and call it a day. PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($159.97 @ Amazon) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard ($124.99 @ Best Buy) Memory: Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($57.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Crucial P1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($104.99 @ B&H) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB TUF GAMING OC Video Card ($229.99 @ Best Buy) Case: Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case ($59.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: SeaSonic S12III 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($54.99 @ Best Buy) Total: $792.91 The RAM you chose is fine, but I changed to the black/grey kit instead of red. However, if you can afford the extra $10-15, it would be worth investing in this 3600MHz kit of RAM IMHO; pcpartpicker.com/product/VNJtt6/c...m2d3600c18 |
