Hi guys,

Need some help. I was playing a game on my PC, nothing that it couldn't easily handle, when it suddenly turned off. When I turn it on from the PSU I get the light through the motherboard. Then when I use the turn on button on the case I get a small internal click but otherwise nothing else happens - GPU doesn't light up, and no fans spin.
Does anyone have an idea on what the problem could be, or how to figure out what it is?
I'm not very knowledgeable with this stuff, sorry. This is my first PC build which has worked fine for its first month or so.
Any help is appreciated

Sounds like something possibly overheated, how old is your pc? Any buildup of dust or debris in your case?

Turn off your power supply utilizing the switch on the back of your pc, disconnect the power cable and wait 30 seconds. Reconnect, turn the switch back on and attempt to boot once more, if nothing occurs reply back and I'll go through some more troubleshooting with you

It's practically a brand new PC. Bought everything about a month ago, so there's no dust or debris at all

When I say there's light going through the mobo, the green power light isn't on which I've just noticed. Could it just mean a dead mobo?

With the power off, remove the little battery you see on your motherboard. Again, wait 30 seconds or so, put it back and try to boot.

How much RAM do you have installed on your PC?

If you do that and you find it still doesn't boot, remove 1 x8 stick of ram and attempt to boot.

If nothing happens, remove the other stick of ram and replace it with the first one you removed, trying to rule out a bad stick of ram as the culprit.

Doubt it's the ram, because the fans would still spin regardless of whether the ram was bad. Sounds like the mobo is bad if the green light is lit on the mobo or the power button is bad on the front of the PC. If the mobo isn't lit at all, then PSU. Did you try a different wall outlet?

I tried removing and reinstalling the battery, as well as the ram and still nothing. There must be power going through it as like I said there's this strip of light running along the side, but the green power light doesn't come on. I've tried a different wall outlet. Stumped.

So the first couple of pics are of the MoBo and what I'm getting from it. The Last link is a video of what sound the PSU makes when I turn the power button on. Is this normal? I can't remember if this sound happened before and I jut didn't notice it back when it was working.
I haven't tried the paperclip test yet as I don't have one laying about. Should I try this before putting all the blame on the PSU?
