Hey guys im trying to turn off windows defender on windows 10 and yes I can go into settings and turn it off with the switch but then it will end up coming back on... I watched a couple videos non worked.. cant figure it out

This way dosen't work for me. From what I have saw online they are trying to stop you from being able to do this.

This guide works. If you have Windows 10 Home edition, you will not have the local group policy editor (gpedit.msc) and you will need to edit the registry.

Sounds like you didn't make the changes correctly.

In Registry Editor (regedit.msc), go to this path:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender

Under this key, create a DWORD called DisableAntiSpyware with value 1.

Then, create a new key (folder) under Windows Defender called "Real-Time Protection" and add DWORDs for DisableBehaviorMonitoring, DisableOnAccessProtection and DisableScanOnRealtimeEnable with value 1.

Reboot, open Windows Security settings, and you will see this.
