Hey guys,
Not sure if anyone is interested or not but i recently applied for the army and have my interview on wednesday @2pm. The role i've applied for is to be a royal engineer, i'm aware that the training period is 12 weeks. This is something i'm quite nervous about if i get accepted into the army because i am quite a skinny and tall guy so i'm not sure if i'm gonna handle some of the requirements and tasks that will be set whilst training as my strength isn't the best. i've just started going for runs more often and eating/drinking a lot of protein, any ideas of how i can bulk my arms up and upper body strength up? |

I'd suggest getting a workout plan done around the requirements of the role you're applying for.
Eat a decent diet with protein and if you want to get bigger lift some weights you should get some noobie gains Good luck with the interview also. |

I'm assume you are from the UK.
I've been in the U.S. Army for about 7 years with a break in service for about 1 year. I've done 2 deployments to Afghanistan and one to Africa. Now obviously our Basic training is different then the UK however fitness is a key thing you must maintain. For me, I split the days up. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I run. I'll either do a 2 mile or hill repeats or 30/60's. And then Tuesday and Thursday I do arms/chest/upper body and then legs and abs the other. Saturday and Sunday are rest days. You must also eat healthy, in the army that's hard because of the hours of a mission or tasking you may do. The first few months are always hard to adjust but once you get a Rhythm going. You'll be fine. That's what I tell my Joe's all the times. Goodluck to you man, any questions feel free to PM |

I was quite skinny when I joined and went in without any training to then end up injuring myself. I'm still in 3 years later and have never been so fit and healthy.
I'd suggest going on walks when you can and take a backpack with some weight in as you'll have to get used to walking around with weight on as they do tabbing a lot, not only in phase 1 but the rest of your career, even at regiment we still tab every week. Build up strength in your life and make sure you can at least comfortably lift your body weight. They've changed the fitness test but I'm really not sure if the engineers do the rft, which is tabbing with 40kg, best effort 2k with 15kg then a 120kg casualty drag. Feel free to pm me and we can talk more on something else, I've been at my regiment for a year and a half now and was part of the programme as a recruit to test these new fitness tests etc so would be a great help, I joined the armoured side of the army so we aren't far off. We can discuss a build up and I can give you tips for training etc as well if you like, just drop me a message mate |

FREDDlE wrote Hey guys, Here's a cheat get a deck on poker or playing cards , and pick a card then do push-ups... Say if you pluck a 10 then you do 10 push-ups, then you pluck again say you get 5 you do 5 push-ups it's only works if you do a deck of cards everyday , also you want to eat a lot so you can put on a lot of weight to your muscles They are jail house ways to get big buff and strong |
