had this sorta thing happen to me a year ago on the site, the guy had a lot of posts, rep and was like a 7 year member so i put my trust in him.

Sent the guy the money for the 3 letter and then he just vanished.

respect for helping the poor guy out man!!

Its all good and well having alot of Rep but if for example someone with a 8 year member status and say 6000 Rep that does not give them a ticket of trust instantly.

Also use Goods And Services also always use services that allow disputes processes to ensure that you have a comeback.

AK wrote So i got a message from a member asking do I know a certain person as he had scammed him $220. This frustrates me more than anything as well as I'm sure many others.

Upon conversation he thought he could trust him as he had a lot of rep and was semi known on TTG which seems to be how peoples trust is gained. The user sent $220 Friends and Family and ended up losing it as the seller vanished.

In the end i had $150 in my paypal and i sent it to him because it frustrated me that much , It isn't the total amount however he will now be only at a loss of $70 which is a lot easier than trying to work hard to claw back $220.

I will not name either user as i know admin is dealing with this however i do fell this is a lesson. Lesson to be learn that no matter what you cant trust someone over the internet and unfortunately in real life this is a lesson also.

Thanks for reading my post isn't about me being generous and sending him nearly all the money as a goodwill gesture this is about being careful and think before you act.

So generous of you to do that for the member

I'm so proud of you

And members should be careful with dealing with other members
on any forum when it comes to handing over money

Should always ignore the person's rep, posts, years of membership etc

But big respect to you AK for helping helping the member out
