The doomers are exaggerating things, the people screaming "America is done for the socialists are here!!" Sound just as silly as the people that screamed "oh my god nazi germany!!!" when Trump was elected in 2016. As far as "far left" candidates go, Joe Biden is extremely center-left, he is not nearly far left nor is he a "scary socialist", no none of us will pay 80% in taxes, no nobody is going to show up to steal everyone's guns. Being someone who is a bit further left than most democratic politicans, I honestly wish Joe Biden was half as ~radical~ as the republican facebook memes make him out to be lol. Everything will be fine, presidents come and go, and for the most part our lives stay somewhat the same.

It will be interesting though to see where the Trump section of the Republican party goes after this. Will they feel disenfranchised and vote less? Or will they be riled up enough to show up en masse for the 2022 midterms and onward? Will the Republican party shift back to the traditional neo conservative platform ala Romney and Santorum? Or will the leaders of the party use trump as a martyr? Only time will tell, but this is certainly going to be a very interesting next year or so as we watch the post mortem of the election.
