I'm looking at getting a gaming pc or laptop just wondering what people have got and can they point me in the right direction. Laptop would be better for me space wise and what will run call of duty. |

Honestly, unless you're legitimately going to be going mobile a lot with the laptop, I'd recommend a full fledged desktop PC. I've never gamed on a laptop myself, but I've known a few people with them and upgradability isn't much, and gaming on them may not be the best experience. |

I have a 'gaming' laptop as well as a PC.
Gaming laptops are great in theory, but often lack the internal space to house an adequate GPU. The newer games will require a better GPU, and only expensive laptops will have dedicated graphics cards. Upgrading a laptop gets expensive too, as most parts are brand specific, and expensive if available. Monitors are small... Peripheral ports are few.... To run demanding software you should get a laptop cooling stand, because they heat up nicely under load. My laptop will run most games, but not at high resolution settings, and particularly fast as fas as frame rates go. Putting a Micro ATX gaming PC together will likely be cheaper. The footprint is considerably smaller than a mid/full ATX tower, yet you can still fit decent components that will play most games with a good frame rate. Upgrading is much easier and cheaper, and you can get nice sized monitor. |

I have the HP Pavilion 16 Gaming Laptop. I got it for $800, and play Cold War at 55-85 FPS depending on settings. I like it because I move around a lot since I use it for school. I personally like it. |
