Hello friends, it's around that 4 year mark when I feel a need to upgrade my PC because the IM system on here starts hanging my browser.
Luckily I'm not in the market for a GPU at the moment, but I am wanting to get new CPU/Mobo/Memory and most likely a case (case I'll probably just go for the smallest black box that fits the form factor and a 120mm or two, it just sits under my desk anyways), as I'm running an mITX at the moment and it seems harder to come by them now from my searching around. So if possible, a micro ATX would be preferred. I'm not as up to date on PC builds as I used to be, if anyone has recommendations for the price range it'd be greatly appreciated. Don't really game too much, but when I do it's normally just 1080p 75hz. Current build in case it matters or you want to bully me: |

Here bb
PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($199.99 @ B&H) Motherboard: MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard ($115.42 @ Amazon) Memory: Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory ($74.99 @ B&H) Total: $390.40 Stay mITX if you want. Can even grab a nice new mITX case if you'd like. I can change my mobo recommendation and maybe recommend a few cases if you'd rather just go MicroATX though. This mITX B450 mobo doesn't seem to have BIOS flashback so you might need to get the BIOS updated to have it work with the R5 3600. If you can find an R5 5600X in stock for $300, that might be worth considering, although definitely not necessary in your case. Alternatively, R5 5600(non X) should be out fairly soon, might be a good option if there's any stock of them lol. Could go for 32GB RAM instead of 16GB if you really wanted. You're looking at $125-150 for a decent 32GB kit. Id also probably add another SSD personally, but no point wasting the money if you don't need it. Thank God you're not looking for a GPU upgrade though, gets old telling people to "just wait" since there's nothing they can buy anyway |

21 wrote Here bb The PC god comes through once again, thanks my man. I'll probably just go with the 3600, atm my biggest issue is the 4590 is screaming at me for daring to have a browser, IDE, and Discord VC open at once, also DDR3 is feelsboomerman it seems these days. Looks like I overestimated the budget as well so I definitely will look into throwing an extra ssd in, +1 |
