During late 2020, my buddy asked for a fresh PC to replace the one I'd built him about 5 years ago.
Linky to 2015 build

For a 2015 build, I don't think we done too badly there. So when he came to ask me to do it all again but a 2020/2021 version, we had to up it a bit didn't we? The best way? RGB and a full custom loop. Yep, we went there. In 2020 when everything was out of stock, we [I mean he] went full out on a 3090, 5950x, 64GB of RAM monster of a build because why not right?

So with the task to hand, I set about getting a parts list together. For those interested, this is what the build consisted of - PCPartpicker Watercooling parts Corsair RGB everything

PC build
Day 1
Basically consisted of tearing down the 3090 and putting the waterblock on it, making sure that everything was correct with the build and getting it into the case.

Day 2 & 3
These 2 days was basically working with terrible cutting and bending hardware to get the runs we wanted. They say a a bad workman blames his tools but this was truely bad tools. I was using old EK bending kits from when I done my first rig. That said, we got everything ready and in shape and was good to go for filling after the end of day 3. That was until EK's radiator at the bottom decided to fail on us. Upon removing the fitting, the entire header came off the radiator and was causing a leak when we put the fitting back on. So, in the bin it went and 2 weeks later, I came back to finish the build but this time, my friend got a bit carried away and done the runs correctly and boy does it look good.

Day 4 - 2 weeks later. [Final Day]
A picture is worth a thousand words

As you can see, he re-ran all the runs using a proper tube cutting kit and it made the biggest difference. The GPU went from vertical to a more normal horizontal location due to PCIE 3 riser cables being an issue and with a 3090 attached to it, he wasn't taking any risks. The EK radiator down the bottom got replaced with a Corsair smaller equivalent due to shipping constraints. I can't even take any credit for the CPU run as much as I'd like to. It's a work of genius I must say and looks so damn good.

When I thought "Unicorn Vomit" I thought the worst, the 2015 build looks good. I really like the updated version as well.
