So I finally had the funds to order a whole new set of brakes (front/back) (calipers/pads/discs)

First order is for the front brake discs and pads.
I get a call the day after ordering,
The pads I want aren't in stock. OK, I get some better ones for the same price. Great stuff.

The order turns up in a couple of days.

Second Order is for rear brake discs, pads and some wheel Spacers.
Order goes through fine, they recommend different pads as the EBC ones I selected aren't that good (don't know why they advertise them if they aren't any good)

I then get another call a couple of days later saying they have 2 of the same side disc. (Grooved ones so it would look weird having 2 going the same direction and the other side in opposite directions)
I request for some new ones to be made, dealer agrees (perfect, lead time of about 3 weeks)

4 weeks pass but still nothing, I contact the supplier, one of the machines broke down and they should be with you by the middle of next week.

Would have been nice to be told that but oh well, they are here now.

Order 3 is for new calipers as mine aren't much good.
I ask them if they have them in stock, going from past orders it makes sence to, turns out they don't stock them and they come from the manufacturer directly and they are on back order and have no date. (could be days, weeks, months etc)

I ask if they have a different the other colour, they respond with the system says available, I then said get them please, I don't wanna miss them.

Order gets placed, money taken. Perfect I'll have my whole new system.

What do I get today an email saying one of the sides is now on back order.

The system said available a few hours prior before how can it change just like that. Once again there are no dates.

So I now can't use my car for, I don't know how long until the calipers come in stock.

Im extremely angry to say the least.

Have any of you had a similar experience?

Man everything is just screwed up because of covid. I got a trailer that has been custom ordered now for 6 months and they said it would be April possibly March before I get it and I just got one of my mowers this week, that I ordered in January. Everybody's inventory is just low right now and almost everyone got a little extra money too. If they didn't spend it on bills or food, then they used it on stuff they want or need done.

Thanks, man, I looked around at more places, one of them came back to me and said the calipers have been back-ordered for about 5 months.

Yeah, I'm not gonna wait that long, so I took my ones off after much difficulty and ended having to cut the pins to get the pads out as they are in there solid and the rear pad being seized in place and I'm sending them off to get refurbished and painted red.

All for £400, the same as getting refurbed ones, and it will take about 2 to 3 weeks for them to be done. New seals, pistons, bleed screws, painting, etc.

But they definitely need to be done, as you can see below.

I would avoid ordering from whoever you purchased from. I order from a local supplier and when material is not in stock they provide overnight shipping to have it ready to go the next day.
