I recently started having issues again with my PC as of late, The first time i took it to the shop it was because of a fried motherboard and i got all of that replaced and it was working for a while but it started freezing and booting after about 2-3 hours of gaming. Turns out that issue was the drivers needing to be updated.
Fast forward around 3 days ago, its doing the same thing so i chalked it up to being the drivers again and updated them. Although this time i updated all of them at once and after i did that and turned my PC off for the day, the next day it had issues booting again and left it alone for 4-5 hours. After that it booted up again. So i tried the generic troubleshooting: Cleaning all the parts Swapping the RAM into different slots CMOS reset Taking the battery out for 5 minutes Power cycle reset Moving the pc to another outlet The thing is, I can still use it even though it wont boot because the HDMI port is connected to my xbox (which is connected to my elgato) so its getting power but i'm not sure why its not booting up. Here's a link of the inside of the pc while it's powered CPU: AMD FX-6350 RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 671MHz Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. GA-78LMT-USB3 R2 Graphics: 24GN50W (1920x1080@144Hz) 4096MB ATI Radeon RX 570 Series (Gigabyte) LSP Ultra 750w ATX Power Supply I was also looking up power supply's and the one i have a lot of people tend to say the same thing, it usually burns out after the 3rd year which is about the time this one has died out, but is there anything else i can check before i start buying parts? Or are there any power supplies i should get (perferbally from walmart so i can return if its not the issue) |

After the troubleshooting steps you've taken, it has to be a CPU or motherboard issue. I'd point towards a CPU issue firstly. |

I'm gonna take it to a repair shop tomorrow and hopefully it isn't something too major, but if it was any of the 3 things, do you have any recommendations for either parts? If you have a repair shop close to you, I would take it there so they can test other parts which will then narrow it down to the part with the issue. I had a similar issue a while back and it turned out to be the motherboard but things like this can happen for a variety of different reasons. I wouldn't just go and buy parts right away because the part you replace could be completely fine so I'd have it checked first.
I hope you are able to get it fixed buddy! |

I see this quite regularly and we replace the CPU first. Obviously, each machine is individually different, but from experience, CPU. |

Do you have debug lights on your motherboard? If the DRAM light is solid red you will dive deep into a youtube hole of people telling you to switch ram slots, re-seat your GPU or you need a new power supply. More often then not you dont. Most common is your CPU is not seated properly.
Take your CPU out and check for bent pins. If all is fine, properly seat your CPU, apply thermal paste then put your cooler back on. Your PC then should boot. If you have anymore questions you can PM me and ill walk you through it. Beats throwing money at someone else to fix it. |
