So I've had my gaming PC for almost a year now. I recently done a update to my drivers and now for some unknown reason it says that my windows isn't activated. I no longer have the original product key I got when I bought my PC as I thought oh I activated it I wont need it no more. So I've just bought a new one and it hasn't worked. I've tried loads of retail ones from websites and each code gives me different errors. Some say cant connect to your organizations server, some says hardware has changed on your pc and others just say you don't have a valid digital license. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please as its really bugging me with being a Graphics designer i cant put any fonts onto my pc or nothing.
Thanks -Meeko |

Hello
Windows as we all know can be weird. Windows keys when activated on a motherboard will stay on that motherboard in it's BIOS so usually if you change any hardware on the computer that's not the motherboard you won't have any issues with activating windows. At least you shouldn't. If you try to clear windows from your current boot drive or try a new install on a fresh drive using a USB and using the media creation tool provided from the windows website to install windows digitally. When windows prompts you for a key you should have an option on the bottom right that should say something along the lines of "I do not have a windows key" Once you click this the media creation tool (the tool you will use to install windows ) will check for a key on the motherboards BIOS and should ask you to chose a type of windows (pro, home etc) depending on the key then it should install normally and work like a dream. Let me know how you get on I am intrigued on this one lol |

By chance have you used any illegal 3rd party software for any game recently or in the past at all?
Alot of high end exploits will spoof/swap you HWID and complete system hardware reset would be needed. |

The organisation error message is because the code you got is a licensed to a company. Effectively, needs to be connected to company LAN within 6 months.
Did you have a Microsoft account signed into the PC? May be possible that you have a digital license linked to your account and it'll pick it up right away. |

Long shot but when you bought a new key did you buy version that's on your computer?
For example: Windows Home or Windows Pro |
